Earthquake of Magnitude 7.9 Jolted Iran and Pakistan

Earthquake that measured 7.8 on the Richter scale struck on 16 April 2013 in Iran killed more than 40 people leaving behind several injured. 

Epicenter of the quake was near Pakistan-Iran Border in the south-eastern city of Khash. The tremors of the quake were felt across India, Middle East and Pakistan. After the quake, the effects were felt with several aftershocks that followed the quake. 

The quake destroyed several houses in Pakistan and shook building in the Mashkel area. This is the strongest earthquake that struck Iran over a period of forty years.  As per the reports of the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the quake was 82 kilometers deep inside the ground in a desert area.
