Utility and tractor manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on 18
March 2013 launched the an all-electric four-seater passenger car e20 in
Delhi priced at 5.96 lakh rupees. The e2o will replace the existing
REVAi and will be the most cost efficient car in India. It has been
developed by Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles. The car is also India's
only all-electric car. It will use generation lithium ion batteries and
have a minimum range 100 km per charge which is considered adequate for
most daily journeys within a city.
The Mahindra e2o can use the futuristic ecosystem of Sun2Car to
derive energy from the sun to charge the vehicle and at the same time
helping to protect and preserve the environment. The car will be
manufactured at the Bangalore plant. It has the capacity of produce
30000 cars per annum. Initially the car will be charged using solar
power.
